Jennifer Borsky | Head of ZLB Topic Room

Jennifer Borsky studied Philosophy, French and German Language and Literature before completing a traineeship at Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin (ZLB) including a master’s degree in Library- and Information Science. Since 2016 she works as Project Manager for ZLB’s “Topic Room” – a format which connects library resources with all kinds of resources of the community – via cooperations and participatory components.

Volker Heller | Chairman

Volker Heller studied music, political science and arts & media management. He worked as a musician, and composer as well as in management consultancies specified on the public sector. His professional stations as managing director included amongst others Head of Kulturmanagement Bremen GmbH and Head of Directorate - Cultural Affairs at the Berlin Senate Chancellery. Since 2012 he works as chairman and management director at the foundation Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin (ZLB).

Hassan Soilihi Mzé | Research Associate

Hassan Soilihi Mzé is a historian with a research focus on recent library history/library transformation. After having worked for public and academic libraries, he coordinates the programme "hochdrei – Changing City Libraries" at the Federal Cultural Foundation since 2018.

Hannelore Vogt | Director

A diversity-based strategy is the key to successful community-based library work that promotes integration

Dr. Hannelore Vogt is the director of the Cologne Public Library. Under her leadership, the Cologne Public Library won the national Library of the Year award in 2015. She was previously director of the Würzburg Public Library, which was also selected as Library of the Year during her tenure. In 2016 she was named “Cultural Manager of the Year” by the Cologne Cultural Department. Dr. Vogt has a degree in Library Science, a Master’s Degree in Cultural Management and Doctorate in Marketing. In addition she served on the board of the Goethe Institute’s “Information & Library” division, and as strategic advisor for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
